What is this about?

It's a rendition of the classic Tic Tac Toe game for Virtual Reality. This VR version brings a new level of immersion and interaction, allowing players to experience the timeless game in a 3D environment. Players can enjoy a hands-on, engaging experience that adds a modern twist to a traditional favorite.

How is Tic Tac Toe played?

Tic Tac Toe is a two-player game played on a 3x3 grid. Players take turns marking a square on the grid with their symbol—either X or O. The objective is to be the first to get three of your symbols in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. If all nine squares are filled without a player achieving three in a row, the game ends in a draw.

Why did I build it?

I was applying for the XR Bootcamp Beyond Inclusion Scholarships, and one of the eligibility tests was to build a Tic Tac Toe game, But then I also thought, why not redesign it into VR too? By the way, I got the scholarship and I have just graduated.

What Tools did I use?

Final IK, VR Interaction Framework (VRIF).

How long did it take?

It took me 3 weeks during the december holidays of 2023, to create both the PC version and this VR version of the game. I must confess, Configuring the full-body Inverse Kinematics almost drove me nuts, but I managed to get it done.

Did you build it with a team?

No, it was supposed to be a test, right? Haha.

What did you learn?

Was my first time playing around full body IK, in which i used one of the most famous assert, FinalIK.

What's next with the project?

I am planning to add a multiplayer feature to the game, so that players can challenge their friends in real-time. I also want to add more interactive elements to the environment to make the game more engaging and fun.
